Canada Calling!

As it is Canada Day, I scramble to put this post up regarding my recent trip to Banff National Park. The Canadian Rockies, and more specifically Banff National Park, had been on my bucket list for awhile now (at least as a photographer).

I think anyone who enjoys the outdoors should pay a visit to Banff, but if you are into photography, Banff truly is a playground. Imagine walking into a one of those cheesy postcards that they sell at gift shops: and that is Banff, a perpetual postcard.  It offers you mountains, alpine lakes, rivers, and lush green pines, all in a panoramic 360 degree view. If you are lucky, you may spot some wildlife such as bears.

I can’t narrow down single highlight of my trip to share as I have so many, so I will be sharing a few in some future posts, but I did want to take time to acknowledge how fortunate I am to be able to finally visit this beautiful park and knock it off my bucket list.

Not only am I fortunate enough to be able to travel, but I am fortunate to be able to travel with like-minded friends who also share my passion in photography.  I met my friends through Instagram, and they don’t even live in the same city as I do.  Yet, we are able to meet up in Canada for this adventure. It was this common passion and our love for nature, being outdoors, seeing new places and capturing all of this through photography that drew us together.  Granted, my friends only live a few hours away, but that distance alone probably meant that we wouldn’t have met “in real life” otherwise. The fact that we are able to stumble across each others social media profiles and have a strong enough connection to be able to travel together speaks volumes.

With that said, I’m excited to see where else my social media connections will lead me to next.

For now though, I will reminisce about Canada…
