I have this toy sailboat that I brought to the beach with me for photography as there is no other place I can see fit to bring a boat to other than ocean. As I didn’t want it to be washed away, I placed it in the sand, and then I realized how odd this image looked: a sailboat on the sand.

Where is it going? Clearly nowhere. What is it doing there to begin with? How did it get there? Is it stuck?
Metaphorically, I see this often, being slammed with obstacles that prevent us from moving forward one way or another. It’s hard to focus on what the real issue actually is, when trying to remove these roadblocks. It definitely is easier to sometimes put the blame on these external sources, such as the sand from the beach that caused the boat to be stuck. However, sometimes the problem isn’t with the sand, with the method of the transportation to begin with. So I can either spend eternity removing all the sand,or I can simply find a beach cruiser to get around.
Oddly, this simple trip to the beach has caused me to realign my focus, as I am currently facing some other road blocks in my life. Instead of focusing on the roadblocks, I am focusing on me, and the things I can do personally to make postive change happen.
